Can Throat Sensitivity For Cold Things Be Cured?
HI , DR. Sumit , I would like to ask about a case of my cousin , she is a female 20 years old , she suffers from throat sensitivity to cold drinks to the extent that she can`t drink cold drinks at all even in the summer which is really a suffering thing for her , cold things make her get infections and kinds of sore throat , i asked a doctor before and he told me that she should make an IGE serum test ... I am asking for ur sincerely advice about that test and if this case can get improved by treatment or it is a chronic case can`t be treated or relieved ??? ... thanks DR. SUMIT

Dear she maybe suffering from chronic allergic pharyngitis or rhinitis or sinusitis.
Cool water or weather or allergen like pollen or animal dander may cause allergy.
So serum IgE ls the level of igE antibody in serum.
If it is High means the patient frequently exposure to allergen may cause elevation.
So please avoid cool drinks and freeze water.
Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day. Use tab.monterleukast and levocetrizine at night for three weeks.
If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
