Suggest Methods To Overcome Side Effects Of Itraconazole And Omnacortil
I am suffering with Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis with Branchial Asthma. Taking Itriconazole 400 mg par day with Omnacartyl 25 mg (nowadays). I am ting these medecines from last 70 days. As side effects heavy swelling on face and some swelling in whole body. Omnacartyl is being tapered 2.5 mg per week. IGE serum test was 5693 and decresed up to 1800 in 40 days of treatment. I want to know that till when my treatment may continue. I feel fatigue, short breathlessness, weakness, low blood sugar, complete loss of sexual ability, some times blood with stool. Please guide me what to do?

Regarding Predinsolone (Omnacortil) tapering is to be done over a period of 3 to 6 months (already completed 70 days, there is still 20 days to go). Antifungal therapy (Itraconaole) is needed for 4 months. Regarding fatigue, breathlessness and weakness, it is suggestive of steroid adverse effects. You need to check serum cortisol at 8 a.m., to make sure you did not develop Addison disease. If it is, there are some precautions to be followed.
