Can Treated Fever Cause Bump And Sore Neck?

My 9 year old had a fever of 100.2 last night that went down pretty quickly with ibuprofin, but now tonight he has red cheeks that appear bumpy and is complaining of a sore neck - what could be going on and should I keep him home from school for another day?

All these are symptoms of viral prodrome . These complaints are common during start of upper respiratory tract infection.
i would suggest you the following for your kid
1. Steam inhalation
2. Warm saline gargling
3. Povidone Iodine mouth Gargling
