Can Two NSAIDs Be Taken Together?

My father is 87 yrs. old and recently fell and fx his rt. hip. It has been repaired about 5 wks ago. He was sent home on meloxicam and Celebrex. He has a hx. of MI with cabg x6, copd, left ventricular failure, internal defibrillator/pacemaker and low back pain maybe due to arthritis. He is also on lisinopril, furosemide, Coreg, spiranolactone, actorvastatin and Asa 81mg. Is it safe for him to take 2 NSAIDs?

Hello,

Although NASID is not safe if taken for a long time and with no indication if it is necessary and highly indicated then it can be taken for time being.

Else it has to be given with great care, low dose with short duration would be safe here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
