Can U Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tooth And Cold After Filling The Gums?
Hello. About a week after visiting a dentist for a filling the gum next to that tooth swelled up. It has been about 10 days since it started swelling and has reduced slightly. There is no pain in the tooth and very little in the gums. I also have had other cold like symptoms; sneezing, coughing, sore throat. Is this something I should let time fix or should I see the dentist again? Thanks.
Hi! Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I went through your query. Your swollen gum and pain can be due to various reasons like an overextended filling or if the filling was too deep or injury of gum kike toothbrush impingment. I suggest you to get a radiograph done for that tooth to find out exact cause and treat it. However, your other symptoms are unrelated to dental treatment, for which an antibiotic course, adequate rest and cough and cold preparations will be useful. Once you are relived of them and swelling of gum persists, visit your dentist. Do warm saline rinses till then for swelling. Hope the answer helps. Thank you.
