Can Urinary Tract Infection Be The Cause Of Painful Cramps In Bladder And Foul Smell?
Female - 28yrs Urination problem*
Hi I have been experiencing strong cramping in the morning due to the bladder being very full to the point it can be painful this is on and off I've had this for a long time . After I empty my bladder I have painful cramping that slowly goes away after a few minutes. When I urinate there is some discomfort and the smell is very strong and pungent ! after I flush the smell seem to linger for awhile. The smell is from the urine not my vagina. discharge is normal and I keep myself very clean. I have to note that I had this* strong urine smell problem before it lasted for months and then cleared up and went away. I am worried it could be a more serious problem since it is happening again. its seems very similar to a UTI but the smell is very powerful. Its hard to explain the smell its not fish like or anything its very distinct very pungent. the smell is always the same very distinguished, strong and lingering. please help me with any information if anyone knows what this could be. p.s I don't know if both symptoms are inter related since I've had the painfully full bladder with the cramping many times in the morning after urination without the strong urine smell

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have infection of the bladder( Cystitis).
Urine smell is strong and pungent due to your being concentrated may be due to less water intake and containing more protein
Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
