Can Using Medrol And Qnasl Cause High BP Along With Inflammation In The Neck, Throat And Chest?

I was diagnosed with an inward bulging eardrum. The ENT put me on Qnasl nose spray and medrol. I did not take my last 2 pills in the pack of the medrol because I had a sudden onset of achy tender to touch pain in my neck, throat, back, chest, armpit areas. It feels like these areas are inflamed and some redness is present when touched these areas are super tender and turn white, then back to red. My bp has always been 116/68, however, when I went to ENT (before meds), my bp was 129/78. Any advice would be appreciated. Not sure if anything is related to the other.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Qnasl contains Beclomethasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid which can be absorbed and can increase BP. Medrol contains Methyl-prednisolone again, a corticosteroid and can also raise BP due to salt & water retention properties.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
