Can We Remove Seton Placed After Finding Anal Fistula?
I was diagnosed with anal abscess and the surgeon did place a seton because he tells me he found an anal fistula. I have a copy of the operative report and he suggests in 3 months I should do the List procedure, I didn t understand what that is. So if this seton stays for three months cant it be removed and maybe the fistula will close after the infection has been drained
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of seton placed in the fistula in ano. This seton if tightened enough from time to time and if cared for can many times cuts through slowly to cut through the tract and the cut part heals. This way this can be the final treatment itself. Ask you Surgeon to use Kshar-sutra thread and you may be cured of the fistula without much problem.with very good results. You may not need further treatment.
