Caroid Artery Disease In Neck. Metal Plate Inserted, Severe Neck Pain. Due To Surgery? How To Fix It?

Hi. I have been told that the left side of my neck is fine. However, I have been told I have caroid artery disease on the right side of my neck. I have a metal plate in my neck and pain since I had the surgery in the neck. My son says that the hospital called my dad and said that I would not make it. I am still in a lot of pain. Is this from the surgery? I am 57 and my children's only parent. How can I fix this?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain that you are having in the neck could be related to the surgery or a nerve root compression or irritation. It is best to consult a neurologist to find out.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
