Viral infections would cause a less severe disease with less tiredness and milder fevers. Bacterial infections generally cause higher fevers, a more sick person and an alteration in the general outlook of the patient. Distinguishing these two greatly affects the treatment and management options. Clinically bringing out this difference at times could be challenging and certain blood tests might be required.
