Cause For Heaviness And Dizziness While Walking?

My mom is 77 with diabetes....she is now having trouble walking...says her legs feel heavy and like lead and when they dont feel that way...she says she is off balance and dizzy. She won t go to the dr..is on about 10 different medications has been hospitralized and taken off some of the meds. She does not use the aid of a cane or walker..too proud...do you have any idea what this could be. Thank you

Hi,
Your mother may possibly be suffering from postural hypotension. This occurs when the blood pressure drops when going from sitting to standing. This could account for heer dizziness. This is known to happen in diabetics.
I suggest she sees her doctor who may wish to measure her BP lying and standing. This condition is not serious and can be treated with medication.
