Cause For The Heavy Bleeding From Vagina After Fingering?

hi, just a few hours ago my boyfriend was fingering me and all of the sudden we noticed his hand was covered in blood. I then went to the bathroom and noticed my underwear was drenched in blood. I have experienced very light bleeding the day after being fingered a couple of times, but this time it was fairly heavy. I did not experience any pain. I am worries and do not know the cause of the bleeding!
