Hello and welcome to HCM, The common cause of itching in vagina and perineal region is infections especially with yeast or a parasite called trichomonas vaginalis. This can be diagnosed by a vaginal swab test. Other causes are atrophic vaginitis in menopausal women due to lack of estrogen homrone and estrogen creams are useful in this cases. Other conditions are worm infestations, lichen sclerosus where white patches are seen on vulva and ither conditions together called vulvar dystrophies.
