Cause For The Terrible Itching Outside The Vagina?
have a terrible itch outside my vaginal area. The lips itch terribly as do inside the folds. Sometimes it not as bad and at times it flares up. the itchiness is between the folds and as times down the inside of my thighs and also towards my anus. What is the cause, and how van I getr releif.?
The common cause of itching in vagina and perineal region is infections especially with yeast or a parasite called trichomonas vaginalis. This can be diagnosed by a vaginal swab test.
Other causes are atrophic vaginitis in menopausal women due to lack of estrogen homrone and estrogen creams are useful in this cases. Other conditions are worm infestations, lichen sclerosus where white patches are seen on vulva and ither conditions together called vulvar dystrophies.
So please get an examination by a doctor to determine the cause as the treatments are variable in every case.
