Cause For The Tightening Of The Heart Muscle, Nausea And Headache?

I recently (within the last 30 days) have had very scary incidents, or reactions to stress. This included a tightening of the heart muscle, some light nausea, and a headache on both sides of my head. I was in Denver so I thought it was about family stress and the altitude. I have been living the last month or so at about 1000 ft. above sea level. The attacks were so severe I had to lay down, which didn't help, and too several hours to subside. I took alleve but it didn't seem to help very much. What is this and what can I do to prevent it?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Anxiety can commonly present with chest pain , headache and nausea. Other symptoms that can occur are palpitations, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, shoulder and neck pain, sweating.

If there is a particular source of your stress that can be identified and resolved then that would help. Anxiety is also treated by counselling sessions with a psychologist or psychiatrist and by the use of medications.

The medications are used for a varied amount of time. Some persons only need a short course whereas other individuals benefit from prolonged use.
You may want to speak to your doctor about your symptoms.

I hope this helps
