Cause For The Urine To Leak From The Bladder?

Hello,

Can you answer my question ...I have one since I had a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. I have come upon sudden just started 2 days ago, leakage of urine from my bladder.....will this be a life long problem...what could be causing it. The doctor gave me an antibiotic, Bactrim, without testing me for a uti....hope the leakage goes away...what do you think?

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have leakage of urine from bladder after hysterectomy 3 weeks ago.

First get confirmed whether there is leakage is continuous or only on straining like coughing,sneezing etc,and whether leakage is from urethral opening or from vagina.

Please consult your Gynaecologist who has performed the hysterectomy for clinical and per speculum examination to confirm the diagnosis.

In the mean while Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexine along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Further treatment will depend upon the result of clinical examination
