Charley Horse. Severe Pain, Popping Sensation, Unable To Walk. Took Aspirin. What Else Can Be Done?

Hi, Last night I had a few charley horses then later I was finally sleeping well and all of a sudden I am woke up by a pop feeling followed by a charley horse severe pain so much I could barely walk due to pain was so bad. I did make it to get to aspirins and took one then soaked in hot bath which helped relieve the screaming pain. Today I can still barely walk but it is tolerable. I take potassuim already...what else can I do. I dont think I can handle this happening again tonight.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The extreme pain that you have is due to a muscle spasm. This needs oral muscle relaxants to take care of the pain. You can do a hot fomentation in the area and have plenty of fluids orally.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
