Chest Congestion, Severe Cough. On Allegra. What Is Wrong? Sepsis?
Hi, I have a son who is 5 and 1/2 months old. He has a bad chest congestion and severe cough. My regular pediatrician prescribed Allegra and Mucolite, both 1ml each, twice daily. Today is the 4th day and there isn t much of an improvement. His fever continues to be there (comes every 6 to 8 hrs when crocin in given). He was born with early onset sepsis . Please advise, thankyou.
Hi,
The pediatrician was treating viral URI in your baby .However if the fever has not subsided in 4 days i guess you will have to visit the docter again to rule out infection. In the meanwhile watch for increase breating rate ,decrease urine output and not feeding well. If any are present then maybe you have to take an immediate appointment with the docter.
Bye
Take Care
