Chest Pain, Increased Heart Beat, Difficulty Breathing, Lump In Throat. What Could It Be?
My son had been having aches in his chest , heart beating hard/fast, had an ekg & xray which came back fine had a halter monitor on for 24hr getting results soon and feels like he can t breath like a lump is in his throat too..it comes and goes but he has been more tired than usual it s been the weeks with the symptoms..hardening of the arteries runs in the family and under developed valve & tachycardia ..today he went too the school Nurse and at resting his bp was 110/50 what do you think it could be? It happens aft different times of the day..(he is active in martial arts and gymnastics)
You mention that your son's investigation of X-ray and EKG are normal and the holter report is awaited. That there is a family history of hardening of arteries, under developed valve and tachycardia. If he has tachycardia (increased heart beat) then the EKG report should have mentioned it. I will suggest that you get an echocardiography done too which is going to give us an indication of the valves. Kindly also get his blood biochemistry work-up done to know the lipid profile in view of the family history of hardening of arteries.
Apart from doing a cardiology workup, respiratory cause should be ruled out. If these turn out to be normal then a workup to rule out endocrinological causes like hyperthyroidism need to be done.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
