Child. Diagnosed Throat Infection, Fever. No Appetite, Weakness. Prescribed Antibiotics. Can Ibuprofen For Fever Be Given? Suggest Diet Plan
Hi, My 2 years 8 months baby girl has a throat infection. We met the doctor today and they took some sample form her throat and did the test and declare that she has throat infection. They also prescribed amoxilin antibiotics which we have started giving to our baby. Earlier she had fever and we used Ibprofen medicine which bring her body to normal. But now again she had a fever.
Shall we give the fever medicine again? Also, she not accepting any food. what should we give her so that she can eat and get some energy? She is feeling weakness now as she did not eat anything entire day. Please suggest us what food should we offer her so that she can eat something?
Both fever and throat infection can reduce the appetite of your daughter. You should give your daughter 5-6 ml. paracetamol/acetaminophen 4-6 hourly to reduce the temperature. It shall take some time for the fever to abate.
You can give your daughter warm semi-solid to liquid diet which shall soothe her throat and be more acceptable. However do not force her to eat if she is not interested.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
