Child. Pain Near Naval And Loose, Sticky Motion. Normal Stools After Intake Of Rinifo-Z And Nixonide. Is The Pain Reason For Concern?

Hi, my 3 years 3 months old son is complaining about pain near naval. The complain is not so frequently. One day back he was having loose motion problem. The motions was very sticky. Pediatrician prescribed Rinifo-Z and Nizonide. After giving the doses loose motion stoped but still he complaints about pain near the naval. Please let me know if something serious.

Pain around the navel is a frequent symptom in children.

At present the pain may be because of gastroenteritis which caused loose stools.

But it is advised to note its severity and any associated symptoms like vomitings.

Is it severe to wake him up in the night or making him cry?

Ultrasound abdomen will rule out any underlying pathology if the pain is persisting or significant.

I advise you to consult your Pediatrician for physical examination followed by ultrasound if required.
