Child. Severe Joint Pain In Legs. History Of Tachynomia. On Betnesol Forte For 3 Months. Suggestions?

My son 10 years old, suffering with tachynomia,Doctor suggested Betnesol forte 1 mg first month 4 tablets on sat& sun days only.2nd month also 4 tablets on weekend,3rd month reduced to 3 tabs on weekend only.

Now already 3 months completed.but since one week he is suffering with severe joint pains especially leg pains.

Please suggest is there any relation with these tablets or it is another issue?

Dear user,

Tachynomia is no word in medical parlance. If you meant "tachypnoea" which is fast respiration, then the doctor must have added steroids because he had a wheezy chest and did not adequately improve with simpler, wind-pipe opening medication.

The use of steroids for a long time may cause weakness of the thigh and shoulder muscles, and prevent the child from getting up from the sleeping/sitting position to standing position. However, that is not pain. So, if you are sure the child has severe pain, you should look for the cause elsewhere.
