Child. Vitiligo. Skin Irritation And Redness After Ayurvedic Treatment. No Help From Creams And Homeopathic Treatment. Can Comelite Cream Be Used?

Hello, I am a mother of a child who is suffering from vitiligo from the last 3 years. I had shown her to a renowned dermatologists at the starting of this disease. he prescribed Bonza strong and tacrolimus and then gave some ultra light, then after some day he started the excimer light which has further escalate the problem. i stopped going there.
I switched to homeopathy for 2 years but to no avail. then some family members suggested me to go for ayurved.
the doctor gave pigmento tablets and cosmelite cream to apply but this cream had done a lot of skin irritation and redness. I just want to ask that is comelite can be used on vitiligo patients. And please show me some way to get rid of this disease from my small daughter.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Vitiligo may occur in number of conditions like primary vitiligo due to autoimmunity and associated with other disease conditions like Chediak Higashi syndrome, Hermansky Pudlack syndrome, etc.
However, the history is does not suggest any other associated any other disease process.
The disease process is msot commonly autoimmune.
Since, the disease is autoimmune, drugs modulating the immune system need to be used.
If you are nor satisfied with your previous dermatologist, consult a more experienced and preferable specialist for pigmentary disorders.
Steroids and immune modulating drugs are the main stay of treatment.

Thanks and take care

Cosmelite is not an ayurvedic medicine. It is not prescribed for vitiligo. It is prescribed for hyperpigmentation(increased amount of pigment in the skin due to increased melanin) of the skin which is opposite of vitiligo(melanin production ceases).
Pigmento tablets are fine. (1 tab twice daily-morning and night).

Ayurveda classifies it and gives prognosis according to type and location. So Please see a qualified ayurvedic doctor.

hi
welcome to HCM
thanks for your query
Mrs Shabana ,your concern for your daughter is normal
vitiligo can be cured completely , do not have stress regarding this
some time after application of cream skin get inflamed due to photo sensitizing reaction of medicines , comelite should be avoided in vitiligo patients
here is a link for detailed article on vitiligo , i hope it will be clear all of your doubts

1. please keep one thing in mind: the duration of treatment may not be proportional to the extent of skin involvement, probably because of a disturbed immune system thus Immunomodulation (Rasayan Chikitsa) is must
2. comelite is a bleaching cream and because child skin is sensitive in early years thus there is skin irritation and redness. It is ideally prescribed for hyper pigmentation and freckles and not for vitiligo, so don't use it. and consider second opinion.

Homeopath Dr. C. J. Varghese's  Response
Hello Friend,
Only because you have tested Homoeopathy, please do not stop hope in Homoeopathy. Vitiligo in the deficiency of melanine deposition on the skin. It is controlled by the melanocyte stimulating hormone secreted from the pituitry and again controlled by the hypothalamus. Therefore please do not think that by applying anything on the local site of skin affected you will cure it. It is a deep affection. Only a genetic and constitutional treatment based on the Miasmatic theory of Homoeopathy, it can be cured.
You have to change the physician if you had no benefits from the one whom you approached. Homoeopathy will never fail but Homoeopaths may fail.
Homoeopathy is like music. You and me can sing but to make a good music, one should artistically know classical music, rhythms and ragas. Homoeopathy is not only a sciene, but also an art and philosophy. Therefore do not lose hope in Homoeopathy. Homoeopathy will ensure cure. Your statement: "I switched to Homoeopathy for 2 years" makes no sense. In many part of the world, there is no governmental regulations that control Homoeopathic practice because it is an upcoming and most modern treatment.
Therefore my advice is to approach an expert Homoeopath at the earliest.
With Best wishes,
Dr C. J. Varghese,
Homoeopath
