Good evening sir, I am a 26yr old/female with no history of significant skin problems. My mother has leucoderma (generalised) which started developing at the age of 27. There is no other family history of leucoderma/vitiligo and i was told that it is sometimes hereditary. Of late, i have noticed that fresh scars that usually turn hyperpigmented (small burns, mosquito bites) are instead turning hypopigmented. they do, however, return to normal colour after a period of time. should i be concerned, and is there any preventive treatment? Thank you for your time.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hyperpigmented scars on body which occurs when skin pores becomes clogged and clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to exfoliate your skin once a week and apply aloe vera gel. Apply betnovate cream twice daily. You should apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day. Oral retinoids are one of the most effective antiacne medicines which are recommended in case of severe or acne unresponsive to other medicines. Cover skin with cloth when exposure to sun. Drink 8-9 glasses of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course as you are not getting benefited with laser therapy.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
