Child Died Due To Holes In Heart. Took Antidepressants And Benzodiazepines In Pregnancy. Is That The Reason?

My youngest son was born in 1989. He needed heart surgery at 2 weeks to band artery. At age 3, they did open heart to patch a hole. 5 weeks later, a second open heart needed to patch 2 more holes. In died in 1994. I was prescribed anti depressants and benzodiazepines thru pregnancy. His dad did cocaine, methamphetamin, thc and alcohol. I have been blamed for his death. Also, my half sister died of hole in her heart in 1965 at 8 hrs old. Am I resposible for my son's death?

Dear madam, of course that you are not responsible.First I am sorry about your son. There are few side effects of these drugs in pregnancy but none of it include heart malformations. Congenital heart diseases are caused by genetic mechanisms and you couldtnt affect on it on niether way. Whoever blamed you for his death, he dosent know facts. You have to continue your life with nice memories of your son. Wish you good health.
