Child Getting Shots For Fire Ants Bite. Had Swelling And Given Benadryl. Anything Serious?

My son is currently getting shots for fire ants weekly. He went into shock last time he was bit I took off his shoes after school and his foot is ab 3 x the size of the other one with 4 bites on one of his toes. I gave him benedryl and the swelling went down a little bit. It's been 6 hours and the swelling won't go down anymore 3 of the bites look normal one looks like a blister. There isn't a white dot or puss that I can see should I take him to the Er or his doctor in the morning? How serious do u think this is

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Severe alllergic reactions are called anaphylactic reactions and based on the information you have provided , he had a anaphylactic reaction to these ants on a previous occasion.

Even though he is receiving treatment to decrease his response to this allergen, it may be best (because of his history) to take him to be evaluated as soon as possible.

This would reduce the chance of another severe reaction.

I hope this helps
