Child Given Calpol And Meftal For Fever. Should Medicine Be Continued After Fever Is Gone?
hi i have a baby girl of 3 yrs old. Yesterday she had fever. We gave calpol 120 to her twice at the interval of 5 hours. but stil she was suffering from fever. Then we gave her meftel p. Then after there was no fever to her. Then we consulted doctor. She suggested to give her meftel p 3 times a day for 3 days. Now my que is whether i have to give her meftel 3 times a day though she doesnt have fear?
Hi thanks for the question. Calpol and meftal p are fever reducing drugs and to be given only when there is fever ie when your thermometer reading goes above 100. So meftal p is not required when there's no fever. But keep recording temperature 6 th hourly to know any recurrence of fever. Take care
