Child Given Ventolin Inhaler And Amoxicillin For Chest Infection Along With Cough. Not Eating Food And Feeling Sick

My 3 year old has had a chest infection he got this about 8 weeks ago, it went away after about 2 weeks with no antibiotics but he still had a slight cough, it came back again about 3 weeks later the doctor gave him a ventolin inhaler and amoxicillin, he refuses to take the amoxicillin so I took him back to the doctor and his cough seems to have loosened off so no need for antibiotics. Around 3 or 4 weeks ago he was sent home from nursery as he had been sick I thought it must be a bug, but yesterday he didn't eat much but everything he did eat after around 4pm he brought back up, he hasn't been sick since around 3am this morning but still isn't eating very well and has had the hiccups 4 or 5 times could this be a bug or could it be connected to the chest infection

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Usually in any infection with a bug, the appetite will come down.
Is he having fever or breathlessness at present.
If yes, I suggest you to get him examined by the doctor.
Keep on giving sips of oral rehydration solutions to prevent dehydration.
Consult the doctor.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
I find this answer helpful
