Child Got Fits. Prescribed Lemictal Tablet 25mg Twice A Day. Cure?
hi.my name is nazia.i have 4 years 3months daughter.she got fits when she was one year old.docter suggest epival syrup.when she was 3 and half year docter stopped the madicen.bt now after b months she again got fits.doctor again start epival.then i went to karachi at agha khan hospital.they diagnose that she is also a patient of milestones.they suggest therapy.which i am doing at home.now after 6 months she again got fits .when we tst the quantity of epival in blood.report is more then 100%.nw doctor start lemictal tblt 25mg morning and evening .nw give me suggestion wht i do.how wecan control fits.

1. when one starts sodium valproate ( epival) , it should be continue till 5 yrs of age or 2-3 yr which comes first . during this time regular blood test done for drug level and LFT done .
2 . why doctor discontinue .?
3 this time u ask from your doctor for how long there is need to take this medication . dont stop medication till your doctor says .
4 . continue medication with regular follow up with yr doctor definitely will control fits . go for EEG and MRI brain also.
