Child Had Blood In Pee. No Pain. Had Taken Amoxicillin For Tonsillitis. Cause?

Hi,
I have a 5 yr old daughter, who is normally fit n healthy! The only medical history she has is her tonsillitis! She has just finished a course if amoxcillian yesterday! I have noticed before she went to bed today, she did a wee! But there was blood in it! She then went to sleep! After a while woke up again n did another wee, which had blood in it again! Then she did a poo which was normal! She has not complained of any pain of such! Whilst she was weeing or when not! I want to know why there is blood in her urine? Has she got a urine infection? She is sleeping at the moment, she has no temperature! Plz can u give me some advise???

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

There are lot of causes for a red color urine.
It could be because of concentrated urine or some colored substance like berries she consumed.

A simple urine examination will identify if it is blood or not.
Please take her to the doctor for examination and further investigations.
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
