Child Has A Rash Like Acne. Rash Is In Varying Degrees. Diagnosed Mellocsum. Not Flesh Colored. On Oral Antibiotics. Prognosis?

My four-year-old daughter has a rash that looks exactly like acne all over her inner thighs. She has had this rash, to varying degrees, for the past three months. The pediatrician diagnosed mellocsum (sp?), but these aren t flesh-colored--they look like acne, the big, inflamed, pussy kind of pimples. She has been treated with an oral antibiotic...topical antibiotics...HELP!

Hi Dear

Welcome to the HCM

Possibility of being infected acne like lesion. That is why your Peads is treating them with antibiotic. Let the course of antibiotic to be completed. Hope this will give positive result.

But if the lesions are itchy especially in nights then one should think of infected scabies. This can be treated with antibiotics and some scabicidal lotion.

Hope the query is answered.

Thanks
