Child Has Bad Throat, Ears, Head Ache, Fever. Antibiotic Has Not Worked. How Long Does It Take To Work?

Hi. My son who is coming up for 4 in a couple of months, has a bad throat , ears , head, achey all over and a temperature of 38.6. My doctor has prescribed him antibiotics which he has taken before and worked very quickly. This time after 3 doses only, there hasn t seem to be any change at all. How long is usual until antibiotics start to kick in and help the poor soul?

Different antibiotics have different duration after which they take affect and it also depends on the weight of your child and the dose he is being given. you will have to give me the name of the antibiotic he is taking and the weight of your child plus the dose he is getting. If he is being under dosed it wont be of any help and if over dosed it can cause complications. so we need to be exact when prescribing antibiotics.
