Child Has Blocked Nose And Sore Throat. Advice?

Hi, I live in New Zealand. My daughter is 5 1/2 years old and has started with blocked nose and sore throat. I have been lucky with her health in that she has never needed an antibiotic - I have always treated her with herbal remedies. In South Africa, I would also give her a mucolytic called ACC 200, which has N-acetylcysteine in it. Having moved to New Zealand, I am struggling to find a similiar product. I would greatly appreciate advise. Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
It seems that your child has allergic bronchitis with added infection.
Antihistamine with bronchodilator will suit her.
As far as concerned about sore throat ,don't ignore it, get LEVOFLOXACIN liquid if available as an OTC product and once a day will cure her within 4-5 days.
If possible gargles with antiseptic solution is also very effective.
