Child Has Cold And Cough.Prescribed Omnacortil Solution Causing Sleepiness And Eating Less. Suggestions?
Doctor goodmorning, sir my son is two and half months old has been suffraing with high caugh and cold and the doctor I am consulting always regarding my sons any problem has said taht due congetion he prescribed omnacortil solution 5mg/5ml. Now when the baby is administered with this drug the effect is he feels sleepy and does not takes the ammount of milk as usually he use to take. but if he is not given this solution till then he remains energetic thouh cough is there and also takes the ammount of food he is usually takes. sir do u think this drug can cause any problem to my son, please help me out? thanku sir.

Hi, I read your quedry. your 2 and 1/2 yr old child got cough and cold.He might be having Upper/Lower Respi.Tract Infection. I re-command you to start Antibiotic e.g. Syrup Co-Trimoxazole twice daily to combat infection. & if required u can use Syr.Paracetamol for any fever.I feel no need for Omnacortil.
