Child Has Cold, Wheezing, Less Urine Output, Yellow Urine. Taken Medication. Need To Worry?
Hi Doctor, My son is 5 months old.He has got a bit of cold and was having wheezing last week and he is on medication. No antibiotics. My concern is since last 2-3days he is passing less urine and also at times is yellowish. He is active. Also I must mention that even I was having viral and was on antibiotics. So is it a singn of some worry.? Kindly reply. Thanking you.
I suggest that you give a little extra fluid to your son and observe both the colour of urine and the frequency. If it is better then you need not worry. However if there is no improvement then it will be better to consult the treating doctor.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
Is he accepting feeds normally or not. If your baby is not feeding properly which could be one of the reasons for passing less urine your baby needs to be examined by your doctor. Please contact your doctor if your baby has fast breathing, chest retractions, poor feeding, repeated vomiting etc.
Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care. Dr Y V Siva Sankara Murty M.D.(Pediatrics) Associate Professor of Pediatrics
