Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Wheezing and rattles are suggestive of spasm of lower respiratory tract.

She needs physical examination including the lungs auscultation.

Is she having an increased respiratory rate?

Wheezing with cough requires nebulization and medication with bronchodilator.

Consult the pediatrician for assessment and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Pediatrician Dr. Taher Y Kagalwala's  Response
Dear user,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

The chest congestion is most likely a manifestation of her blocked nose; this is also why she is preferring to sleep on her belly, as this position allows her to breathe more easily through her mouth. Start using normal salt-water (saline) nose drops every few hours to keep her nostrils open. This will also help her to breathe more easily when she lies on her back.

Hope this helps.
