Child Has Fever, Lethargy. Reason?

My child, 4yrs old, has had a low grade fever off and on for 2 days now but we have noticed that he is increasingly lethargic in the afternoons and early evening despite having naps at daycare or at home. This is unusual for him and we have found that our 2 year old has much more energy than he does! What could be the potential reasons for this?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Some decreased activity can be observed in a child who is having fever. But if you find your child to be lethargic then you should consult your doctor.

Please consult your doctor if your baby has any of the following danger signs. The danger signs are
1. Poor feeding.
2. Lethargy.
3. Loss of consciousness.
4. Fits or seizures.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
