Hi

Hope he is on exclusive breast feeds. Exclusive breast feeding till 6 months of age is the best for your baby.

For his gas problem- burp him after each feeds till he belches out the air.
And as a part of the routine massage, add these strokes to his tummy
- circular strokes around his belly button - strokes in the form of inverted L starting from right lower end to right upper end and then to left upper end - strokes in the form of inverted U starting from left lower end, go up and then come down to right lower end.

You may use olive oil/ coconut oil for massage.
Also when he cries, try to keep a warm towel on his tummy.

You may also see a Pediatrician and get medications like colicaid/ colimex prescribed. These will help in his colic.

Colic and gas problems will gradually come down as your baby grows and intestines mature (by around 4 months).

Hope my answer helps you.
Wish your baby good health.

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic,
Passing gases is a common problem in infants in early months and nothing to worry.
You continue burping and holding upright after every feed.
Arching and frequent movements of the trunk is normal.
For coloic pain you can give colic aid drops before 15 minutes of feeding and for gas you can give neopeptine drops orally after consulting your Pediatrician.
If the colic pain is severe hold her tummy agianst your shoulder or gently massage on her tummy.
Hope I have answered your query.
