Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Child Has Headache, Intermittent Pain, Dizzy, Head Tender Spreading Till Temple Making Difficult Chewing. Was Punched Side Head
My son has had a constant headache for 5 days with intermittent stabbing pains that is making him dizzy and now nauseous. His head is also tender to touch on the very top of his skull and this sore area has now spread to his temple and it hurts him to chew. He does not have a temperature but he does have a slight sniffle. The only relevant thing I can think of is that he was punched very hard in the side if the head 3 weeks ago.
You have not mentioned the age of the child. I suggest that you get your son examined by a doctor, get his fundoscopy done and if required a MRI may have to be done to rule out any internal bleed which is causing these symptoms.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Get him examined by a neurologist
External findings could be deceptive and may not directly relate to what is inside
CT brain may be necessary... because of nausea and giddiness
And with a history of punch, Sub-Dural haematoma has to be excluded...
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
