Child Has Itching Penis Tip. Negative Urine Test. No Rash Or Inflammation. Any Ideas?

Hi, my 5 year old son has been complaining about the tip of his penis itching for about 9 months. He says it is there constantly but it doesn't seem to bother him. We've brought him to the Pediatrician's office 4 times for it (three different health care practitioners). He had his urine tested which came back negative. No signs of rash, inflammation or any other signs according to the doctor. He is circumcised but the doctor said that didn't appear to be the issue. Any idea what could last this long with no outward signs? Thanks

It is possible that the tip of his penis may be getting irritated by the undergarments that he is wearing. Since it has been there for nine months it is unlikely to be due to an infection. Maintain good hygiene. Make him wear cotton underpants. Apply some oil or some cream to lubricate the tip. And he should alright with these measures. In case of any doubt consult a pediatric surgeon.
