Child Has Nephrotic Syndrome. Taking Wysolone. Any Treatment To Enable Stopping Steroid?

My son is around 12 years old and since 10 years he is suffering from Nephrotic syndrom (steroid dependant). Present dose is 10mg EOD wysolone. In last ten years only two time ( Approximate 06 months) he was without steroid. Can you suggest any tretment for stopping the steroid. Is it the right time for go andexon, tecrolimus or MMF.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Your child seems to be steroid dependent. I think with that low dose steroid he is stable without much relapse. Addition of further drugs is only indicated if there are further relapses or if there are any side effects because of steroid.
Please consult a pediatric nephrologist in this regard.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
