Child Has Sore Throat, Movable Nodule In Neck. Infected Cyst?

My son is 13 has a cold sore throat and brought to my attention a pea sized moveable nodule midline neck near Adam s apple. I think it may be an infected thyroglossal cyst? Never saw anything like this. Makes me worried cause I had thyroid cancer when I was pregnant with him and a thyroidectomy two months after giving birth. Alica ny

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
You observe the cyst while swallowing. If it is moving with swallowing it is thyroglossal cyst. If it is not moving it could be another one, So consult your Pediatrician for the examination to see whether it is thyroglossal cyst or any lymphnode and for appropriate intervention.
