Child Has Tingling Sensation In Body, High Fever, Vomiting. Worry? What Can Be Done?
My son who is 3years and 7 months old, when he sleeps a tingling sensation started in his body, like fingers, shoulder, legs, knee, neck means all body shows slightly sansation.Only its one body part tingle at one time and its last for 2-3 sec. then other body part starts the same n its continous during his whole sleep. He is completly healthy n active child there is no other problem to him. This problem had started when he was 2.5 years old at that time he suffered from high fever n vomating..I m very worry about him, what should i do?
I think he may be having what is known as a sleep myoclonus. This is a normal event that occurs in some children. In this, the muscles contract involuntarily for a very short duration, but the child sleeps through it and there is no effect on him the next morning or later on.
To be perfectly sure, though, it is necessary to visit a neurologist, who may order either a brain or a muscle electric discharge study (these are known as EEG and EMG respectively, in medical parlance).
