Child Has Watery Stool. Done Stool Test. Prescribed Enuff And Metrogyl. Help

My baby is 1yr 5 months old and he has teething . Since 10 days he was passing watery stool 6-7 times a day. he did not pass blood in the stool. we showed him to pediatrician , he recommended enuff-10 (racecadotril) and opox-dt-50 and metrogly . We gave him the course for 5 days. But it did not help. Stool routine showed presence of mucus and 3-4 hpf pus cells and also bacteria present. Color was yellowish and acidic. his hemoglobin level is also low i.e.7.1. Presence of occult blood, cyst or ova was not noticed. Pediatrician has said to continue the above prescribed medicine for 3days more, it is ok to give the same antibiotic again which did not help earlier. Could you please help?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
As your child is having loose stools since 10 days and not showing improvement with 5 day course of antibiotic, better to give stool for culture and sensitivity as the causative organism may grow and the antibiotic sensitivity can be know to start appropriate antibiotic.
Continue to give sips of oral rehydrating solutions to prevent dehydration and consult your Pediatrician for stool investigation and the to know the need for probiotic and zinc supplementation.
Hope i have answered your query.

Pediatrician, Neonatology Dr. Ravikiran Reddy's  Response
Hello I have gone through your complaints. Your baby can also a viral diarrhoea . I would like to prescribe probiotics with prebiotics for your child. Give ORS i.e oral rehydration solution for your child. Give zinc upto 14 days which helps in preventing recurrences. The ultimate goal is that we should maintain urine output in normal status which indicates that the hydration status is good.
Thank you. Good day.

Pediatrician Dr. Synthyia Bhagat's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query
Your child is having diarrhea which is mostly viral in nature.
There is no need of continuing with antibiotics. Most important is to maintain proper hydration.
I suggest you to give oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stool.five coconut water, lemon water, banana, curd, boiled potato.
Also give lactobaccilus sachet for 3 to 4 days with zinc supplementation for 14 days.

Your baby will be fine
God bless
