Child Have Bad Cough And Rashes On Legs. Are They Related?
my son has a bad cough and a rash on his legs in 2 spots. on of the is oval in shape and hot to the touch, it is about the size of an orange the other goes down his calf to his ankle about the same shape and size, Not sure if it is related to the cough but he has gotten this rash since the cough began,,, dr or no dr?
A rash which is the size of an orange and warm to touch is certainly an inflammatory process. It is quite possible that an abscess is forming there. The upper respiratory tract infection causing the cough can be related to this problem as infection can spread through the blood stream and settle down in an area of the body. I suggest that you consult your doctor who may get your son investigated and order medication accordingly.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
The cough is just looking like due to throat irritation may be an allergic one as there is no fever or some time due to upper respiratory tract infection which initially starts with a cough due to infection focus in the throat.
The rash on leg with hot due to evolving pustule or a skin infection and may need topical antibiotic cream application. But examination is important to say whether it is a pustule or a just papule.
So consult your Pediatrcian for further management.
Hope I have answered your query.
