Child Have Congestion In Chest, Blocked Nose. Taking Asthakind P And Otrinoz Saline Medicine. Can Medication Be Continued?

Hi,

My baby is 2 months 3 weeks old. He is suffering from cough (congestion in chest) and blocked nose. My paed has suggested Asthakind P (1.5ml) thrice a day for congestion and Otrinoz saline for blocked nose.
I am worried about otrinoz.. He said I can use it any no of times. Is it true ? Wont the baby get addicted to it ? Usually how long does it take for the baby to have clear nose ..

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

These medications you mentioned Asthakind P and otrinoz Saline can be safely given to your son.

Otrinoz saline will not lead to any kind of addiction as it contain salt water and this is used to clear the nasal blocks .It can be used as many times as you feel baby has difficulty in breathing or if he is making sounds while breathing. These need to be instilled and then the nose needs to be cleaned with a cotton piece or a aspirator can be used to suck the mucus plugs from the nose gently.

Bye
Take care
