Child Have Mild Fever And Knee Pain. Is This A Serious Problem?

my boy is just under 3 years and he is having low grade fever about 98 degree F under his armpit. The temperature is normal (96degree F) in the morning and in the evening it is about 98 Degree F. This has been going for few days (5days) and yesterday he reported keen pain. I am worried if this is a serious condition?

The temperature you mentioned in your query is normal and the temperature is not suggestive of fever.
And there will be minimal variations in the recordings of morning and evening temperatures(up to 0.5 degree F), and this variation is physiological.
