Child Have Spitting In The Ear And A Lump Behind The Ears, Now Has Become Raw. Could The Lump Be The Cause For The Ear Staying Raw?
My 2 year old sons ear is splitting at the top and he has a lump on the bone behind his ear closest to his ear lobe. We took him to the doctor and she said it was ringworm she put him on a anti fungal/steroid cream last week. It started to look like it was finally closing up and healing, the lump was still there however. A few nights ago his lymph gland below his ear near his throat began to swell to the size of a mini golf ball. We took him to the ER they said he had strep throat and prescribed an oral antibiotic and advised to stop the anti fungal cream. The swelling has gone done but the top of his ear is now raw again. My son is almost three and keeps saying his ear is going to fall off. It is irritating him really badly. Ive been putting bacitracin and povine iodine on it but its just not healing. Could this lump have something to do with the top of his ear staying raw? They took x-rays at the er but did not give us results. They told us to follow up with his dr. tomorrow. We don't have insurance and have to pay for each dr. visit and prescription we can't afford much more of this.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I can understand your concern, if boy is weak as long as the immune system is concern then the appearance of lymph nodes are very likely whenever child gets any infection the lymph nodes will get swelling and remains swelled for quite a long time, and the condition is not worrisome, as the child grow up and will gain weight he will be having good immune response every thing will be alright, no need to worry take care of your child and have good day.
