Child Having Loose Motions. Yeast Cells Present In Stool Test. Not Gaining Weight. What Does It Mean?
Hi. My 3 year old boy is experiencing LBM maybe 3 times a day. His first stool exam result shows no ova/ parasites. Same result for 2nd and 3 exam but on the 3rd it shows in others portion that he has yeasts cells +. What does it means? By the he s only 13.5 kls and not gaining anymore weight for the past few months. Thank you
Presence of yeast cells in a properly done stool examination is indicative of fungal infection of the alimentary tract. For this, it is necessary to take anti-fungal medications like fluconazole. This must be done under the guidance of a medical practitioner.
Please consult an appropriate registered medical practitioner.
