Child Having Severe Diarrhea And Lost Weight. How He Will Get Back To Normal?

Hi My 3 year old has had following symptoms over the last 9 days Started with sickness for 2 days could keep nothing down not even liquid Seemed better for 2 days back on food etc then started having awful dioreah last week he got very week and lethargic slept pretty much constantly for 2 days. Stool is slightly firmer now but is still a strange pale yellow colour, his appetite is back but he has lost lot of weight. Would have expected his stools to have gone back to normal by now so just a bit concerned?

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
during diarrhea it usual to lose weight because of dehydration and malnutrition.
Do not stop feeding or diluting feeds during diarrhea.
After an attack of diarrhea increase RDI by 25% to make up the loss.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
