Child Having Vomitings Due To Infection Along With Productive Cough And Stomach Pain. Prescribed Zofran

My 2 year old has been vomiting intermittently for 5 days. We have been to the ER and been checked out by her regular pediatrician. Her urine was clear and a chest xray revealed no pneumonia. The pediatrician checked her blood and said she was fighting an infection not bacteria. She is incredibly congested and has a very productive cough.I have been giving her Zofran every 6 hours for the last 2 days. she also complains of a tummy ache. She has no fever. For the last 3 days she has been seeming better in the morning. She eats and drinks some and seems to tolerate that well. After her nap she wakes up complaining that she doesn't feel good. Then she throws up what looks like phlegm or tiny bits of liquid. This is while on Zofran. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that the child have an allergic or viral rhinitis, causing much of congestion of the chest, cough, and vomiting.
I usually prescribe to mypatient with such symptoms domperidone, cifixime, citrizine, phenylphrine and paracetamol for 5 days, and domperidone to be continued for 5 days more.
Avoid giving fruits, cool drinks, cool water, and ice cream till the congestion is relieved.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
